Whether you’re interested in converting a traditional course to an Internet or ITV course, or developing an entirely new distance learning course, this module offers useful distance education course design tips. Designing a successful distance education course requires clearly articulated goals and objectives, heavy emphasis on interactivity and a serious commitment to assessments and evaluations.
Goals and Objectives: This unit offers tips on designing distance learning course content in accordance with sound instructional design principles and highlights the technical issues specific to distance education.
Interaction: Sustaining meaningful interactivity poses one of the greatest challenges in the distance learning environment. This unit provides ideas and links to free software that will help boost and maintain interaction and class participation.
Assessments and Evaluations: This unit discusses various assessment and evaluation strategies for use in distance education courses, and also provides links to distance learning sample evaluations.
