| The Northeast Texas Consortium (NETnet) is a voluntary collaboration of 15 east Texas colleges and universities to bring a wide range of instruction to 50 rural Northeast Texas counties containing 46% of the rural Texas population. The NETnet Administrative Board is comprised of the 15 member presidents and defines the Consortium’s vision, mission, and objectives. From the Administrative Board, the membership elects a 5-member Executive Board with certain operational authorities. The Administrative Board and Executive Committees, in turn, work closely with administration at The University of Texas Health Center at Tyler. UTHCT hosts the NETnet Center for Educational Technology that houses the NETnet Executive Director and staff and acts as fiscal agent for the Consortium. The NETnet Executive Director and staff report to the NETnet Administrative Board and Executive Committee concerning NETnet initiatives and operations and to UTHCT administration regarding their financial, employment, and housing responsibilities.
