| NETnet’s
primary membership is with East Texas colleges and universities. NETnet
members include UT and TAMU system components, an academic health center,
a technical / vocational college, numerous community and junior colleges,
and 4-year senior universities. These colleges and universities link
through NETnet to share resources, exchange courses, reach out to the
public school systems, and access information. View the map
below.
Many of these organizations are a technology “meeting point” in their own right for their local communities. They provide to their regional constituents many of the services that NETnet provides to higher education throughout East Texas. In fact, the NETnet network was designed to enhance and facilitate this “meeting point” role, allowing the local college to become a door to the world for their citizens, professionals and students. As a whole, then, the NETnet benefits extend far past our member locations. With each new project or training session, NETnet reaches directly into the rural and traditionally underserved communities of East Texas. The list below represents NETnet’s higher education connection capabilities, either through networks we directly manage (NETnet in the last column) or through networks with which we connect. The list is not comprehensive – NETnet can link to hundreds of other colleges and universities in Texas and around the nation through various networks and technologies. However, this list does identify a growing number of organizations in the East Texas region that can access NETnet resources today.
