View the ETIHN Calendar of EventsNETnet’s 50-county service area is generally characterized by quiet streets, small town neighborhoods and miles of beautiful countryside – and one of the state’s fastest growing, most competitive industries. Healthcare. Of the 15 NETnet higher education members, the University of Texas Health Center at Tyler is not only the sole healthcare facility but is, in fact, the only academic health center in the 50-county region. In partnership with UTHCT, NETnet participates in numerous opportunities to bring the benefits of advanced academic medicine to the rural communities of East Texas. One such opportunity is the East Texas Interactive Healthcare Network or ETIHN. This network, comprised of 10 regional hospitals and 5 Texas Department of Health clinics, links the participating organizations to weekly medical education events such as Grand Rounds, Center for Disease Control satellite feeds, public health seminars, and other events designed to enhance provider, staff, and healthcare professional effectiveness. Since its inception in 1999, the ETIHN network has averaged 200 physician, nurse and staff attendees per month in events carrying CME, CNE, Pharmacy, Ethics and a variety of other accreditations. ETIHN access reduces travel, increases regional interaction, and affords rural East Texas a means for rapid, accurate dissemination of breaking medical news and information. The list below represents NETnet’s healthcare connection capabilities. The list is not comprehensive – NETnet can link to hundreds of other hospitals and health clinics in Texas through various networks and technologies. However, this list does identify a growing number of organizations in the East Texas region that can access NETnet members and resources today.
